Second Annual Game Day | Boston | April 2016
Saturday, April 9th – The Peloton Foundation held its 2nd Annual Peloton Foundation Game Day in Boston to raise money in support of kids and their families in achieving education and childhood development, health and well-being, and economic empowerment. With approximately 100 participants, this fun-filled day kicked off at Bleacher Bar in Fenway with a Connect Four tournament followed by a heated game of Social Bingo. The group later made their way to Blazing Paddles where a highly competitive tournament of Ping-Pong took place. The day concluded at Baseball Tavern with a raffle of prizes that included Green Monster tickets, a signed Bruins puck, a two-night stay at a Cape Cod resort, and many more. We are very proud to announce that this year we raised over $5,000 in donations! A big thank you to Bayside Resort, The Bleacher Bar, GymIt, The Fireside Restaurant, Paint Bar, TD/The Bruins, and the Slattery Family for their generous donations and all of the attendees who helped make the 2nd Annual Game Day such a success!
Community Service Day | Atlanta, Boston, Chicago & New York | November 2015
The Peloton Community participated in a Service Day on Friday, November 13th. The Peloton Team (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and New York) served different charities in their local communities. Boston and Atlanta served More Than Words and Room To Grow while Chicago partnered with Equestrian Connection and New York dedicated their time to helping Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ).
Room To Grow offers their services to families with children ages 0-3 by providing them with baby clothes, books, toys, and necessary other equipment for proper child care. The Pelotonites that served with Room To Grow spent their time sorting and folding children’s clothing, cleaning and assembling toys and organizing and cleaning essential baby products. Once these items were folded, sorted, and cleaned the group worked to organize and display them in the non-profit’s in-house boutique where families of those served are able to shop and choose from any of the toys, clothes, and other supplies offered.
More Than Words – a non-profit that empowers youth who are in foster care, court-involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business and providing them with jobs within the organization. The Pelotonites that served this organization helped to sort and scan books into the More Than Words computer system. The sorted books are then sold in the non-profit’s bookstore which the youth community operates and manages. The work completed at the bookstore is meant to serve as a lesson in business skills and essential life skills for youth members of the program.
Each group in the Boston office was able to make an impact in the community while having fun and embodying the Peloton values!
Peloton’s Chicago team volunteered at Equestrian Connection – a charitable organization offering therapy primarily, although not exclusively, with the use of horses. The non-profit helps to serve children and adults with special needs across the greater Chicagoland area through animal therapy. Pelotonites worked to help maintain and clean the property by forcefully uprooting and taking down broken fences and removing dangerous tree limbs from the horse trails. The team also lent a hand by cleaning saddles and stables and painting the organization’s lobby to give it a fresh new look. Together the team helped to prepare Equestrian Connection for the winter season by storing their outdoor furniture and trampoline.
Peloton’s New York team served the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ), a non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty in New Jersey by assisting those in need and seeking long-term solutions. The team worked together to sort and repack food across multiple categories for distribution. This marks Peloton’s second year serving alongside the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them for years to come!
